Heather Clunie
Counselling & Psychotherapy
About Me
Hello

My name is Heather. I am a qualified counsellor and was awarded an MSc in Counselling Psychology by Keele University in 2016.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and an accredited member of the National Counselling Society and abide by their code of ethics. If you would like a copy please click this link to the BACP website. I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) and hold a DBS certificate (Disclosure & Baring Service) - previously known as a CRB check.
I have several years experience working as a Senior Counsellor at a service supporting survivors of abuse and have an interest in post traumatic growth. I am passionate about working with people to find ways of living more fully connected lives and supporting people to take the steps they need to craft a fulfilling life.
I understand that life can be difficult and that we all develop ways of coping. Sometimes this can trip us up in the long term, or make life harder when things have changed. It can be hard to understand what is different and how (and if we want) to change, by ourselves. I believe that by offering you the space to explore what is distressing you, we can find ways forward that work for you at your own pace.
Everyone is different. I will not make assumptions about you, or what you are experiencing. Instead, I can offer the time and space to explore what is important to you. You know yourself best and I firmly believe that we all have the potential to grow and develop.
It is important to make sure that we are both comfortable working with each other so if you have any questions and to see if we would work well together, please do book a free 15 minute initial call.
